The Nike Air More Uptempo Knicks actually has a story/inspiration behind it. For all Knicks fans who were anticipating this release, you may now be looking forward to it after reading how this colorway came about.
The Nike Air More Uptempo Knicks pays homage to that one time Scottie Pippen baptized Patrick Ewing with one of the most filthy dunks of all time. Too young to know what I’m talking about? Check out the video above.
Set to drop this September, the Nike Air More Uptempo Knicks references the dunk and moment by way of the number “33” (Ewing) embroidery on the heels, and the custom insoles that displays a silhouette of Pippen dunking over Ewing. As far as the rest of the shoe goes, it comes in a classic Knick-color scheme consisting of White, Deep Royal Blue and Team Orange. It’s kind of a tricky situation here for Knicks fans since the shoe comes in the team’s colors, but the inspiration behind it is a moment they would never happened. Dropping on September 19th for $160. Who’s picking up a pair?
